SimplyAnalytics's Help File provides guidance for citing in APA style. (Click on Support, then Help Center, click on the How do I cite SimplyAnalytics Data under the FAQ heading) Note that the examples in SimplyAnalytics Help are for the U.S. product. The following is the syntax that they have used, followed by Canadian examples. (Colours added to make this easier to follow.)
To cite a map that you have created and downloaded from SimplyMap in APA style:
SimplyAnalytics producer (Year). Map with Title of data Year of data retrieved Date, from SimplyAnalytics database.
Example:
SimplyAnalytics. (2013). Map with Environics Analytics Household Expenditure Potential (HEP) Data 2012 retrieved August 23, 2013, from SimplyAnalytics database.
To cite data that you have downloaded from SimplyAnalytics in APA Style:
SimplyAnalytics producer (Year). Title of data Year of data retrieved Date, from SimplyAnalytics database.
Example:
SimplyAnalytics. (2013). Environics Analytics Household Expenditure Potential (HEP) Data 2012 retrieved August 23, 2013, from SimplyAnalytics database.
Tips:
You may determine the Year of data and Title of data by clicking on View metadata under the ACTION menu for the variable in question.
