Graduate Student Workshop Leader program
The UNBC Library is piloting a Graduate Student Workshop Leader program this academic year! This program is designed to allow UNBC graduate students to share their knowledge with their peers (and other members of the UNBC community) by developing and delivering a workshop based on their own knowledge and experience while receiving an $800 stipend. Successful applicants can present their workshop in either semester, and in-person, online, or in a hybrid format. As a pilot program we don’t have examples from previous years to inspire you, but this program is based on an existing initiative at UBC-Okanagan, and you can see past workshops from their program here: https://gradstudies.ok.ubc.ca/student-life/professional-development/research-excellence-workshop-leader-initiative/
What makes a good submission? We’re looking for content that isn’t already provided on campus, and applications that clearly articulate what the learning outcomes are for their session, and how those outcomes will be helpful to other graduate students. We want the content to be driven by your expertise as graduate students – as long as you can explain the link between the content of your workshop and graduate student success, it fits the criteria. Applications close September 26, and the application form can be found here: https://forms.office.com/r/Z0kFKhwzqi
