We recommend starting your research using the Library Search box on the Library's home page.

When you first access an article, ebook, or video to use for your research, you may be asked to log in using your UNBC email address and password:

You may also be prompted to enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) code; for more information, check out this MFA support article.
Once that's completed, you'll see a message at the top of the page stating something like "access provided by the University of Northern British Columbia"

If you start your search elsewhere, look for some sort of Login link or button:

Then choose "Access through your institution." This could look different on different websites:

Or

You can then search for UNBC:

If this doesn't bring up our institution, try searching for the full name:

If UNBC is not in the institution list, try looking for OpenAthens or OpenAthens Federation.
If you have already logged in with your UNBC username and password, you will not be prompted to do so again; instead, you'll be passed directly to the resource you are trying to reach if we have access to it.
