Welcome to the new school year!

Ts'uhoont'i whusahya is the traditional welcome in the Carrier language.  We would like to welcome all to the UNBC Geoffrey R. Weller Library, which is situated on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh, part of the Dakelh (Carrier) First Nations.

Whether you're joining us in-person or virtually for online classes, the Geoffrey R. Weller Library staff and librarians are looking forward to supporting your academic endeavours this semester.

The library offers a host of services, both in-person and online, to facilitate your learning. Get started at our Research Help page, which outlines our research services, offers answers to frequently asked questions, and provides detailed subject guides

Now part of the Learning Commons, the library’s newly-renovated first floor space provides you with a lounge area, computer lab, laptop tables, printers, and access to front counter service for all your library queries. Within the Library Services desk is Research Help, where librarians and support staff are happy to answer questions about finding, accessing, and using scholarly resources. Additionally, the Academic Success Centre (ASC), which offers free tutoring services to UNBC students, and Student Life and Orientation, which organizes and hosts student events throughout the semester, are conveniently located on the first floor, near the Library Services desk.

The library’s second, third, and fourth floors offer access to our wealth of physical resources (books, films, journals, microfiche, microfilm, and oversize atlases) – including the Northern BC Archives and Special Collections – and study space to suit most needs. Book a library study room online to work on group projects and prep for exams.

If you’re not on campus, there are many other ways to connect with us:
