The Pacific Great Eastern Railway Film Collection is now available on the Northern BC Archives YouTube channel. This collection consists of three original color film reels that compile 16 footage clips from various dates between 1954 and 1971. Subjects include: PGE promotional events and rail tours with Premier W.A.C. Bennett, PGE track inspection and construction, the Williams Lake Stampede, Seton Lake, and a train wreck, among others.
We invite community members and rail enthusiasts to help improve the descriptions of these film clips by identifying people, places, objects, or dates via comments on the YouTube clips or emailing Northern BC Archives at archives@unbc.ca.
